What we do

Our Services

REKOVE Business Solutions Limited offers two core service lines: IRC Taxation Services and IPA Business Registration. Each service below lists what is included and the documents you should have ready before you contact us.

IRC Taxation Services

The Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) requires every taxpayer and business in Papua New Guinea to be correctly registered and to lodge returns on time. We assist with:

  • Tax Identification Number (TIN) registration — for individuals, sole traders, partnerships and companies who do not yet have a TIN.
  • Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns preparation — for businesses that meet or expect to meet the GST turnover threshold.
  • Salary & Wages Tax (SWT) compliance and returns preparation — setting up correct payroll tax deductions for employers.
  • Provisional and annual income tax returns — preparation and lodgement for individuals and companies.
  • Certificate of Tax Compliance (COC) — required for tendering on government contracts, including Department of Works & Highways road and bridge maintenance contracts.

Documents Typically Required

Common supporting documents for IRC taxation services
Service Typical Documents Needed
TIN registration (individual) Valid ID, proof of address, completed IRC application form

IPA Business Registration

The Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) is responsible for registering business names and companies in Papua New Guinea. We assist with:

  • Business name registration — reserving and registering a business name for sole traders and partnerships.
  • Company incorporation — registering a new limited company, including preparing the company constitution and shareholder details.
  • Annual return filing — keeping an existing company's IPA record up to date each year.
  • Renewal of business name registration — renewing before expiry to avoid deregistration.

Documents Typically Required

Business name registration Proposed business name(s), owner ID, contact details
Company incorporation Proposed company name, director & shareholder details, registered address

Common Questions

Answers to the questions our clients ask most often. Every answer stays visible even when JavaScript is not available.

A Tax Identification Number (TIN) usually takes 3–5 working days once IRC has your complete documents. IPA business name registration typically takes 7–14 working days, and company incorporation 10–15 working days. The most common cause of delay is missing documents, which is why we review everything before lodgement.

No. Many of our clients are based in the provinces. We can arrange your whole engagement by phone and email: you send clear photos or scans of your documents, we prepare and lodge the application, and we email or call you when your certificate or notice is ready.

Government departments and many large companies require a current COC before they award a contract or approve a supplier. If you plan to tender for Department of Works & Highways, provincial works or other government contracts, you will almost always be asked for one. We check your lodgement history first so the application is not rejected.

A registered business name belongs to you as an individual or partnership — there is no separate legal entity. A company is a separate legal entity registered with IPA that can own assets, sign contracts and continue if ownership changes. Companies suit joint ventures and larger contracts; business names suit small sole trader operations.

IPA annual returns are due each year on your company's registration anniversary. For IRC, companies generally lodge provisional tax in April and annual returns within six months of financial year end, while individuals lodge after the annual notices are issued. We keep track of these dates for our Premium clients and remind you before anything falls due.

How the Process Works

Four step diagram: Step 1 Enquiry, Step 2 Document Review, Step 3 Lodgement, Step 4 Certificates & Notices Issued
Figure 1: Our four-step process from initial enquiry to certificate issued.
  1. Enquiry You tell us which service you need using the contact form or by phone.
  2. Document review We check what you already have and list anything missing.
  3. Lodgement We prepare and lodge the application with IRC or IPA on your behalf (Standard and Premium packages).
  4. Certificate issued We notify you as soon as your TIN, GST & SWT Notices, Business Name or Company Certificate is issued.

Online Returns Portal

Clients on our Standard and Premium packages can send us their records online instead of visiting our office. Upload your documents from a computer or phone, and our system prepares your GST, Salary & Wages Tax and income tax returns for a REKOVE tax agent to check before you approve them.

  1. Upload Bank statements, sales and purchase invoices and your payroll register. Clear phone photos are fine.
  2. Automatic preparation Transactions are read, sorted into categories and matched to your invoices, and a draft return is calculated.
  3. Agent review A REKOVE tax agent checks every figure and tells you about anything missing, such as purchases without a tax invoice.
  4. Approve & lodge You approve the return online, we lodge it with IRC and you receive the lodgement receipt in the portal.
